Dev (Aamir Khan), a casanova and an ambitious painter in debt, agrees to marry the daughter of a rich tycoon. A music teacher Priya (Manisha Koirala), on the other hand, is about to marry a man who’s been there for her in times of need. But when Dev and Priya meet on a cruise, they fall hopelessly in love. They agree to sort out their love lives and meet each other six months later to get married. But on the fateful day, Priya meets with an accident and Dev believes he’s been stood up. Will the star-crossed lovers ever reunite?
